Commentary by Dr. Pierce from October 1998:
Report from Greece
On October 24 and 25 I attended an international conference of nationalists in Thessaloniki, Greece. Also attending the conference were representatives of groups in Greece, Portugal, Romania, Flanders, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, and Austria. It was hoped that representatives of Russian groups also would be present, but none was able to attend. The Alliance was the only group in the United States represented. The conference was hosted by the Greek nationalist group Golden Dawn.
In a formal session on October 24 I spoke to approximately 200 representatives of other groups about the work of the Alliance and listened to many reports about the work of other organizations. On the following day I had informal conversations with a number of individuals. On October 26, I visited German and French nationalists in Augsburg, Germany, who had been unable to attend the conference.
Altogether this conference and the attendant traveling kept me away from the National Office for six days, but I believe that it was time well spent. Cooperation across national borders will become increasingly important for progress – and perhaps even for survival – in the future. But to be able to have meaningful cooperation in the future, we need to establish bonds of trust and understanding now. At least some headway was made in that direction at the Thessaloniki meeting, as I established several new contacts and further developed contacts I had made earlier this year at the NPD meeting in Passau, Germany.

Each time I visit a group in another country I learn new things and gain new insights into our struggle. In Greece, for example, there is a much stronger sense of ethnic consciousness in the general public than exists in the United States. This is especially true in northern Greece, in what used to be Macedonia, where Thessaloniki is located. Nationalism in this area reaches a Balkan intensity, and memory of the struggle for freedom from Turkish rule is still very strong.
A group of about 50 of us took a guided tour of a historical museum, the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, and were lectured by both a museum guide and our host about the historical exhibits. Both were able to speak without inhibition about Macedonia’s liberation struggle and about the strong dislike Greeks have for Turks, with none of the disgusting Political Correctness which any museum guide in the United States would be bound by.
Despite the stronger sense of ethnic consciousness, Greece is more genetically mixed than the countries of northern Europe. The people I saw in Thessalonki ranged from tall, light-eyed blondes to people who were so dark I wasn’t sure whether they were Greeks or Gypsies – until I saw some real Gypsies and could note the distinct differences. Five hundred years of Turkish rule has taken a racial toll.
Much of the ethnic consciousness in Greece is based on culture: language, traditions, etc. Nevertheless, Golden Dawn is an organization with a clear, genetically based racial policy.
Speaking of genes, I saw a substantially higher percentage of very attractive women in Thessaloniki than I have seen in any part of the United States. While obesity seems almost to be the rule rather than the exception for women in the United States, I didn’t see a single obese woman in Thessaloniki. Most had long, slender, shapely legs, which they were proud to display: quite a contrast with the disgusting scenes one sees in every supermarket in America. I could almost believe that the ancient Greek practice of having young women as well as young men compete naked in athletic contests and thus develop a pride in possessing healthy and well-formed bodies is still effective today. I saw not a single Black or Asian in the city, although I was told that a few were there.
And speaking of language, that turned out to be much less a barrier than I had feared. Although simultaneous translation into Greek was provided when I delivered my talk to the conference, I found that I had little or no trouble in speaking with the other representatives. Most of the Greeks could speak English moderately well – although I had a little trouble with vendors and hotel clerks. I have hated to see the intrusion of American trash-culture into Europe, but the ease of communicating in English nearly everywhere certainly will make the development of international contacts easier.
Greece, despite its very rich and deep cultural roots, is in some ways a backward country: certainly where the utilization of modern technology is concerned. Whereas in America we take word processors, scanners, and laser printers for granted, they are by no means as common in Greece. Likewise, Internet access is far less common in Greece, even among urban professionals.
In other ways, however, Greece is far ahead of most other countries in Europe: in the lack of Jewish influence and the consequent greater degree of freedom the people have, for example. Whereas in Germany citizens are imprisoned for even the slightest transgression against Political Correctness, in Greece people are still free to say nearly anything they want. This makes Greece a convenient venue for international conferences of the sort I attended in Thessalonika. The Jews and their collaborators are working to change this, of course, just as they are in the United States.
One thing I discovered which the Jews have done for the Alliance in places like Greece is gives us name recognition. Every nationalist in Europe has heard about The Turner Diaries, for example. And being promoted by B’nai B’rith as the most dangerous organization in America also has helped.
W.L.P.
I read this and i read the long and not so well written text “Who We Are: the History of the White Race”. Im going to comment on both of them, but first his comments about Hellenic people. So this is one of the most funny incorrect comments coming from a person of mixed ethnicity – Anglo-Saxon, Irish and Scottish. Even if similar people, the three of them, W. Pierce is not a homogeneous person. That W. Pierce is from USA does not play any role though.
One by one i will comment as his report goes from up to down.
1.”In Greece, for example, there is a much stronger sense of ethnic consciousness in the general public than exists in the United States.”. Yes, well Hellas and Europe in generally with its nations of course have strong sense of ethnic consciousness than colonies such as north- and south America, Australia etc. Sure race-mixing has occurred here as well, but still no similarity between a nation and a colony. The homogeneous people in US r a minority.
2.”This is especially true in northern Greece, in what used to be Macedonia, where Thessaloniki is located. Nationalism in this area reaches a Balkan intensity,”. As said previous, ethnic or national consciousness exist everywhere in Europe and not only northern Hellas. Macedonia is still Macedonia – a region in northern Hellas. Also the south part of “Skopje” was also part of Macedonia. Of course Macedonians lived there then and not Slavs “Monkeydonains” of today. Except that (this sententence did not make sense at all generally), Macedonia is one of regions in Northern Hellas, the others are Thessaly, Epirus and Thrace, however we also include North Hellas from around the city Lamia (yes so its actually in the region fthiotida, so the whole region does not count) and upwards. Hellas is not a “Balkan country”, as neither is Romania for example. “Balkan” is a Slavic word meaning mountains, something like that, and this region of Europe is not “Balkan” for us. Hellas is Europe, or south and western Europe in one. Even if in today’s map of Europe, Hellas is situated in the south-east corner of Europe – Hellas is still part of western Europe as well known.
3.”Despite the stronger sense of ethnic consciousness, Greece is more genetically mixed than the countries of northern Europe. The people I saw in Thessaloniki ranged from tall, light-eyed blondes to people who were so dark I wasn’t sure whether they were Greeks or Gypsies – until I saw some real Gypsies and could note the distinct differences. Five hundred years of Turkish rule has taken a racial toll.”. The first sentence is incorrect. Now, If William Pierce cannot distinguish a Gypsy from ANY other race in the world, his whole life is a JOKE:D ! A parody of someone writing texts about races and how he WANTS history and races to be. Gypsy’s originate from a place in India and EVEN between Indians and Gypsy’s you can see the difference even if they have the same brown skin color for example. It is pretty obvious to see if one is a gypsy or and Indian etc. If we judge by the comment “until I saw some real Gypsies and could note the distinct differences”, it is like he never EVER actually have seen a Gypsy before or have any idea what they like look like obviously XD?! And this was a man who was a Dr etc?! He closes the paragraph with “Five hundred years of Turkish rule has taken a racial toll”. The occupation of the filthy Turks in Europe was all the way to Austria and there was no mixing done Europe. If there where hypothetically we would know. In Minor Asia, where we Hellenes had colonies, there actually though OCCURED mixing between (and i will explain further down about that) Hellenic people and Turks. But STILL, first he wrote GYPSY and than about TURKS :D. Turks don’t EITHER look like Gypsy’s (also there r Hellenic DNA in many of them), only Indians look like Gypsy’s, and as said, even than i can distinguish an Indian from a Gypsy in so many ways because they r not really the same culturally/racially(?). Really mental retarded comment there :D.
4. Golden Dawn is not an exemplary party in Hellas. They where a better option in the past, had better policy etc. Today they include Christianity and generally have become of lower quality. Except that, for me as north Hellene, i don’t want a bunch of south Hellenes to be the government of Hellas. The leaders of GD consists of Maniates(Peloponnese) as well. AS well known south Hellenes generally also have darker characteristics, either it be skin tone or eyes and hair. But phenotype has got to with skeletal, EXCEPT the color characteristics, and mentality as well. Something W. Pierce did not know or denied such racial facts. To sum this paragraph up, in Hellas today there is NO exemplary good right-wing party. There is not even a right-wing party in the present parlament!
5.”Greece, despite its very rich and deep cultural roots, is in some ways a backward country: certainly where the utilization of modern technology is concerned. Whereas in America we take word processors, scanners, and laser printers for granted, they are by no means as common in Greece. Likewise, Internet access is far less common in Greece, even among urban professionals.”. Yes, it is true that Hellas have dropped the level for many many decades now, and as he calls it backward country in many aspects. Long ago the Germanic’s etc learned from us, today we learn from them, and that is for various reasons. There is a “present superiority” as i explain myself.
6. Lastly, about races and terms of his “Who We Are: the History of the White Race”, and also an explanation irrelevant with the text and it is regarding Minor Asians/Pontiacs as mentioned previously. There is no such thing as a “Mediterranean race, food or house (as heard lately on house style shows XD). W. Pierce is the ONLY one i know about calling “Mediterranean people” It is well known that when some other non-south European idiots refer to Mediterranean food, they refer to south-euros “of course”. But newsflash! the Mediterranean is a SEA and ONLY – and that between 3 CONTINENTS irrelevant to each other. It is like i would call Irish people “Atlantians” or Swedish people “Kategatians”. The difference in the latter is that Kategat is a sea in Scandinavia between Denmark and Sweden – a similar race. Regarding Scandinavians, i (along with other south-Euros) don’t call them “Nordics”. There is no “Nordic” race. Nordic means “northern” with other words AND “northern” as a term has other meanings for us others, and cannot refer to a people in northern Europe just because thats where they originated. As i am northern Hellenic. In Hellenic we can also say “boreios or boreio-elladitis” or as i prefer personally – Hyperboreos. Hyperboreia is a place in the mountains in Hellas for example etc etc. Generally W. Pierce loooong text is filled with non-sense and has no titles and structure to follow it through with ease, to say at least.
Over and out :).
I forgot to write about Minor Asians. So long ago Hellenic people traveled to Minor Asia (today’s Turkey). It was mainly north-Hellenes i think who went there, and they created colonies there. See, Ephesos etc places in Ionia etc. After many hundreds of years, there occured, unfortunately race-mixing with the Turks there. The Turks came later, and as we all know they even drove the so-called Minor Asians out and they came as refugees to Hellas in the beginning of the last century. Many of the Minor Asians/Pontiacs (there is not such thing as a Hellenic group of region called “Minor Asians or Pontiacs”, cause we just call them that cause they fled from those colonies) r mixed with Turks. Pontiacs specifically had mixed with Turks and Armenians. Usually Minor Asians last name ends with the Turkish -oglou, which is a sign of mixing of course. Sometimes is hard to know instant by meeting, but looks, mentality etc generally shows. We, not me personally THEN, called them “Turk-seeds”. But of course we Hellenes still call them Turk-seeds. They brought Gyros, kompoloi and rebetika music with bouzouki, all non-Hellenic stuff.
Unfortunately these Minor Asians/Pontiacs got voting rights rather early in Hellas – and since then along with the help of leftist Hellas is that banana republic it is today. That means that Hellas is actually one of the first countries in Europe to give voting rights to people who r of mixed non-European DNA – such as Turks.
Still in Minor Asia, there where still Hellenic people left. Usually they also refer to themselves as Ionians rather than Minor Asians. Even if the later was also a region created in the colonies there it still makes sense.
